The Aerodome Elite is Zone3's premium buoyancy short, worn over swimwear to lift the hips and legs during open water swim training the way a pull buoy does, but without needing a hand free to hold one. The 5mm side panels do the heavy lifting for buoyancy while a 3mm centre panel keeps the short flexible enough to actually swim in rather than just float in. It's built for swimmers who need real leg lift, not a token buoyancy aid.

The side panels use Zone3's branded Aerodome construction at 5mm, an air-bubble neoprene structure the brand rates at roughly 30% more buoyancy than standard neoprene, while the front and back centre panel runs 3mm Yamamoto #39 neoprene for stretch through the hips. The shorts are stitched and bonded using the same construction method as Zone3's triathlon wetsuits, which is a step up from a basic sewn seam and holds up to repeated open water sessions rather than pool-only use.
An adjustable drawstring waistband gets the fit dialled in regardless of what you're wearing underneath, and the unisex cut runs from XS through XL so training partners of different builds can share a size chart. This is the short for a heavier-legged swimmer who needs maximum lift, or anyone doing structured buoyancy work rather than just wanting a bit of extra float.
